Happy Birthday to Judy Blume, the author of Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret. Published in 1970, the book focused on a sixth-grader who was on a quest to find a religion. Margaret also faced other pre-teen issues, such as buying her first bra and liking boys.
In 2011, the book was placed on Time's top 100 fiction books written in English since 1923.
Blume has written many novels for children and young adults, with sales of over 80 million copies.
